A much needed foot pampering after my holiday in Japan. I tagged along my good friend Grace so we can have a little bonding over massage and dinner afterwards.
It’s my first time to try a Foot Reflexology but I’m aware that it’s a different type of massage compared to the traditional one. I knew that there’s pressure involved and it targets different points on our feet by using hand techniques. And those zones are actually connected to our body parts. It is well-known that Reflexology is considered as an alternative medicine. Well, this is too technical to tackle…heheh!
- Reduction of stress.
- Effective for pain management.
- Effective in bringing about a deep state of relaxation
- It can improve blood circulation in the feet and throughout the body.
I badly need all of these benefits, don’t you?
Feet Haven Katong is nestled along the same stretch as popular brands like Bikram Katong Yoga and Brotzeit Restaurant in a culturally diverse and interesting Katong. The area maintains a personal and rustic touch despite the nation’s robust urbanization. It’s my personal favorite for cafes, restaurants & bar hopping. And I12 Mall is just 2 minutes away from Feet Haven, too.
It was full house when we reached the boutique but, since I did the booking ahead I’m relax that we will be accommodated. Having seen the crowd in different ages and nationalities, it gave me little kick of excitement and a good impression that I am about to experience a good service.
The moment we stepped in, we were greeted with calming aroma, sounds of dripping water and soothing music. They have huge lazy boy chair reclined fully so you can rest your back or maybe doze off while you get your feet treated by a skilled and friendly masseur. But, you bet I didn’t sleep, being it was my first time it was ticklish and a bit pain in some points of my feet. The masseur explained to me the reason behind the pain. I got a therapeutic massage and learned at the same time.
I indulged in combination massage of foot and back for 60 minutes. You can customize the service you want. My feet were soaked in aromatic warm water for few minutes before the foot reflexology started. The massage was up to the knees and most of the masseur are male. You can ask for either a ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ massage treatment.
I had an instant results. My feet felt relax, it seems like my joints were loosen up too and I had a good night rest.
