Kowayo Aesthetic Reviews: Signature Dark Eye Circle Treatment

I finally did it! I regretted that it took me so long before I decided to go for it and fix my eyebags problem. I’ve been planning about this for years after I gave up on undereye cream. I’ve used different types, even the expensive brands. I didn’t get the result I wanted. I still look older, my eyes are looking tired, and I even have doubled eyebags at times.

I’ve done a lot of research on how to fix it. I found out that the most effective option would be to get an undereye filler.

While back in the days when I used to accompany my mom to the aesthetic surgeon for the removal of eye bags as going under the knife was used to be the only aesthetic treatment. That’s right, mine is genetic plus my lifestyle. I spend so much time on screen and don’t get enough sleep too almost daily. I know that it’s not a good habit, I’m working on it.

Nowadays if the filler doesn’t exist, I think I wouldn’t go for surgery at this point in my life. I’m scared of injection what more if it’s a knife on my face. But thank you to the technology and the brains behind the invention of new techniques, a non-surgical procedure with little to no downtime, and the result is instant. My first reaction when I saw the result was “Oh my God, I think look younger now” It looks like my eyebags were photoshopped.

I had my eyebags filler just three weeks ago at Kowayo Aesthetic. If you had watched my Instagram stories, you’d see the snippets of my procedure, the amazing before and after photos, and how comforting the staff in the clinic. Dr. Wong is the best!

I bet you are also considering getting one or else you won’t be here reading my experience. You did the right thing, research as much as you can before jumping into it. Consider yourself lucky today as I am going to share everything you need to know about eyebags filler and my personal experience.

What is undereye filler?

Undereye fillers are technically soft gels that contain Hyaluronic Acid that is a natural bio-degradable compound that is a normal component of the skin. Hyaluronic Acid holds in moisture like a sponge, to keep skin firm, soft, and supple.

It is one of the most effective undereye treatments, to refill the volume loss. The product used to fill the volume loss is called ‘filler’ or ‘dermal filler’.

Kowayo used Redensity II filler on me. A unique filler specifically designed for dark eye circles. It combines hyaluronic acid with a complex of vitamins and antioxidants to restore volume and rejuvenate the tear trough.

Is it suitable for everyone?

Generally, undereye fillers are suitable for everyone as they use Hyaluronic acid fillers. However, it might not be suitable for those who have a skin condition like allergy or pregnant women. The best way to find out is to have yourself checked by a cosmetic doctor.

I had a consultation with Dr. Wong before my procedure to assess my condition. It’s suitable for me.

Snippet of my procedure, take a closer look on my eyebags before and after.

How is the procedure performed, is it painful & safe?

After my consultation, a numbing cream was applied for about 30 minutes. As you can see from my video, the dermal filler was injected into my tear trough area in precise doses using a blunt micro-cannula. This fills up the hollowness that surrounds my eyes. In less than 30 mins, it’s done. My condition is a bit challenging as my eyebags problem is worst. In most cases, it’s just a 5-10mins procedure.

I was so scared but it’s painless and Dr. Wong hands are moving lightly that I can’t even feel it at all. Also, not to forget the very comforting staff, the nice Disney music in the background, and the stress balls. Well, what else can I ask for? I’m in good hands.

It is a safe treatment, only if it is done by a licensed and professional aesthetic clinic like Kowayo Aesthetic.

Do’s & Don’ts

I didn’t do any preparation prior to my schedule, but I did avoid alcoholic drinks a few days before my treatment. After my treatment, I was advised to avoid exercise for 3 days, avoid alcohol for 24 hours, facial or anything that involve the face, no sauna for a week, and eye massages for a month.

Is there downtime & side effects?

It is a non-invasive treatment that has little to no downtime.

In my case, the Doctor had informed me that might have slight bruises and he was right. Thank goodness the bruises and swelling were not the worst. Although it took me 2 weeks to completely recover the bruises, it wasn’t an issue for me as I can hide it with my mask on. I would like to recommend that you do not go for the undereye fillers if you have an event to attend for the next few days.

While there are no side effects as the filler is made up of natural ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and multivitamins. Except you’ll experience swelling and bruises. It will depend on the individual, some might heal in a few days and some could be like me. Moreover, some people don’t experience any bruises at all.

How long it will last?

As advised by my doctor, mine would last about 12 months. But generally, it will last at least 9 to 12 months. This is something that you should consult with your doctor. It could be a case-to-case basis.

What happened if I didn’t like the result?

I remember during my consultation this was my first question. Fortunately, it’s reversible using an enzyme called hyalase which will break down the filler within 24 hours. Also, the fillers will dissolve by themselves naturally.

Will I do it again?

It’s a big HELL YEAH! And hopefully, I’m not scared of the needles anymore because there’s nothing to be scared about.

This is something I should have done earlier. I’m lucky I picked the right place to do it. If you are considering for yourself, there’s no harm in inquiring with Kowayo Aesthetic. Go on and say goodbye to your panda eyes! You’ll thank me later, you’re welcome.
