Dallas Boat Quay – February Celebration!

A week to CNY, it feels a little different this year compared to the previous Chinese New Year. Regardless, I’m pretty sure we are still busy planning our gatherings with family, friends, or even office colleagues. I’m happy to have my first gathering this week with few friends I haven’t seen for a while in Dallas Boat Quay.

It’s a contemporary bar-bistro concept with outlets at two prime locations in Singapore’s Central Business District – Boat Quay and Marina Bay Sands. I used to hang out here and had casual drinks with friends after work but I didn’t realize they have a big dining space at the second level and a nice venue for corporate events or private parties at level three. We were lucky to explore both levels and dined at the third level with a lovely panoramic view of Boat Quay Singapore River. Just like me, you might didn’t know too that the two floors exist so let me virtually show you around plus I will share their February/CNY Festive Set Menu which we had for dinner.

Black Pepper Calamari

It’s soft inside while crispy outside. I love the black pepper sauce that goes with it, just the right amount of sweetness and spice up by the black pepper. You have to take a bite with the sauce and curry leaf to get the right experience of this appetizer.

Wagyu Cheeseburger Spring Rolls

You read it right, it’s a spring roll! It’s quite unique for me and also a brilliant idea of fusion dish of our local favorites with western. It’s wrapped with cheese and served with tomato sauce.

Satay Chicken Skewers

Don’t expect to get as per usual. It’s not your typical satay. Aside from its size, the chicken is tender and the satay sauce is made rightly to meet western and local taste in one.

Tom Yum Prawn Pasta

The taste is not the same as the usual Tom Yum Soup that is so spicy and sour with lots of spice on it. They nailed this pasta, a perfect combination of just prawn and linguine in tom yum sauce that is homemade from scratch which means you can only try it in Dallas. It’s quite heavy and fulfilling too. Be prepared to be surprised!

Steamed Barramundi with Ginger

The photo says it all. A dish served with rice and Asian greens, a good pick if you’re looking for a main course with rice. You have to eat the fish with its toppings to get that mixture taste of fish and spices, especially the ginger. But I wish there’s more sauce on it simply because Asian loves a little sauce in their rice.

Prime Rib Steak

By far the best 250g Rib Steak I’d tried considering its price point. Perfectly medium-rare, I love that they have served it with four types of sauces — Red Wine Jus, Black pepper, Smokey BBQ, and Wild Mushrooms. It is sided with green veggies and Dallas Fries that you can upgrade to Truffle Fries. Their Rib Steak made me realized that I can eat a medium-rare as I always go for medium-well or (mostly) well done. It deserves a come back soon alongside Tom Yum Prawn Pasta.

Orange and Almond Cake

I wish it’s made of Almond flour but, still good. What makes it different is that it serves with homemade double cream. The almond bits are just on top. You can remove them if you don’t like nuts on the cake. It’s worth a try even if you don’t like orange-flavored dessert.

We enjoyed their February Menu at level three, where there’s a balcony to enjoy the panoramic view of Boat Quay Singapore River while sipping your favorite drink. If you saw my Instagram post, I’d shared a mini video tour.
