Years ago I posted this nice beach photo on Facebook and caption it “I didn’t know that there’s a nice beach in Bintan, as nice as this, I will be here!” It’s the beachfront of Banyan Tree Bintan.

The dream holiday to Bintan didn’t happen soon and not even set my foot on Bintan Island ever until this month. I was ecstatic that my dream holiday in Bintan would finally come true, although it’s not really in Banyan Tree, but it’s the same beach stretch, sea and sand, so it’s kinda the same …hehehe!

I wanted a place to relax on a beach over the weekend and be out of my busy city life in Singapore. A place that matches my relaxation needs and budget. And Cassia Bintan was the perfect fit! I and my friend could enjoy a nice beach without having to travel too far. Just a quick 45-minute ferry ride from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and 15-minute land transfer, we were in this beautiful resort. This property with pristine long-stretch of the beach is under the roof of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts seems perfect for big families and friends/colleagues as there’s a big space at the beachfront, do some water sports, ball games and jog.

The vibrant colors at the resort lobby which is facing the infinity pool and the ocean welcomed us and it’s seems shouting fun to us. The check-in was fast. And our super chic 1 bedroom apartment with luxurious ocean view and queen bed, living room and kitchen, plus the delicious food in a variety of restaurants, and very friendly and accommodating staff, it was really a great welcome break for us. You have everything in one area, so you won’t find the need to step out of the resorts anymore. I wish we have stayed longer!

Our One Bedroom Apartment

Cassia Bintan a part hotel, part serviced apartment, They have room options available to suit your needs. Either you choose one or two-bedroom apartment units, each has a super-chill living space and gorgeous functional kitchen (Yes you can cook!). Some of the rooms have a lush garden view and a panoramic ocean view.

We stayed at 1-bedroom apartment with ocean view. I love that we were closed to almost everything — reception, pool, bar, cafe, and the beach! I love the cleanliness of the surroundings of Cassia, especially our bedroom. The bed is glorious to my back and the bedding is so clean and neat. You can also open the sliding doors too if you want some air into your room.

The living area is so inviting that you wouldn’t want to leave your room. You can watch TV while there’s an ocean view from the veranda.

Make sure to check the tours and activities booklet, as there are a lot of complimentary activities too. I so love the idea of Cassia, they have provided fun-filled different activities to every guest.

Each apartment unit has a fully-equipped kitchen, if you open the cabinets you can see that it’s so complete not only with appliances but also with cooking utensils, pots & pans, and cutlery. This makes Cassia different from other resorts, you have the choice to cook and save. While you can buy some fresh ingredients in Market 23.

Infinity Pool

The pool isn’t so big but enough for you to chill while enjoying the sea view. They have foam party activity every Saturday and aqua aerobics too.

The Beach

My first time to paddle board, I fell a few times before I managed to stand up on board. Just like life, sometimes we have to fall a few times until we get it right. LOL!

Isn’t it the rainbow is just so pretty, I’m feeling like a care bear on board.

XANA BEACH CLUB

The XANA Beach Club is the first ever beach club in Bintan. Perfect place to unwind for the rest of the evening with good music, food, and booze.

It also offers an ocean view dining experience with its international cuisine specialty. We had lunched at Xana Beach Club and some cocktails.

LOTUS CAFE (located at Angsana)

The buffet breakfast is in Lotus cafe, located at Angsana Resort, just 2-minute walk from the lobby of Cassia. When the people get crowded on weekends, another buffet breakfast is set-up at the Cassia lobby.

We ate most of our meals during our 3 days stay at Lotus Cafe. They offer casual dining in an elegant setting. It’s an all-day restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Southeast Asian specialties, International favorites and Indonesian dishes.

SAFFRON (located at Banyan Tree)

We indulged in delicious Thai food in Saffron for dinner. It’s Banyan Tree’s signature restaurant. You can approach the reception area of Cassia to bring you to Banyan Tree. It’s a fine dining experience that’s worth the buggy ride with a beautiful view on your way up to Banyan Tree.

My photos didn’t give justice to all the food, I gave up taking photos due to lighting condition on fine dining set up. So, these are a few of the food we had tried. To be honest, with the free appetizer they served while waiting for our order, I was already full. The appetizer alone is already yummeeey!

Enjoy an authentic Indonesian food in comfortable surroundings. Open all day, Treetops will serve you a delicious breakfast buffet, lunch dishes or dinner from the rich culinary traditions of Indonesia.

The best Indonesian Beef Rendang, I’ve tried so far! And the lobster in coconut milk is to die for! We only ordered 3, including the Lard Tuna soup. But side with 2 cups of rice each. (kargador lang kami hahah!)

Hiking at One Tree Hill

One Tree Hill is located just inside the vicinity of Banyan Tree property. We initially plan to hike our way to sunset but unfortunately, it rained, so we took a buggy to get there. It can be easily reached by hiking, it shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes. It’s worth it! It would have been prettier if it didn’t rain.

It’s a hill with one tree standing tall with a stunning backdrop of the panoramic view of the ocean. This hill is also intended for private occasions. And also a perfect spot for a wedding.

Angsana Spa

We ended our amazing three days escape in Cassia Bintan with a relaxing massage at Angsana Resort. I felt like I can stay in their couple room forever. I mean with this big room and gorgeous view, I didn’t want the massage to end anymore.

Jen had a Traditional Javanese massage, while a had the Signature Banyan Tree massage. There are a few other choices of massage available.
