We originally arranged an island hopping but when we are about to leave the house we decided to cancel it because of the weather condition in Mactan Island. Safety will always be our top priority especially that the kids are with us. Instead, we headed to Cebu Safari & Adventure Park.
It’s approximately 2 hours drive (without traffic) from Cebu City to Toril, Brgy Corte, Carmen, Cebu where the Safari is situated. It’s own by Cebuano pawnshop tycoon Michel J. Lhuillier. The safari was born out of his passion to become a farmer.
Cebu Safari and Adventure Park is a 170-hectare property that showcases more than a thousand animals from 110 different species. It features a first in the country vehicle tour inside an African Savanna and a flora walking trail that displays 1 Million different variations of orchids.
I’m down to my third Safari and Safari World in Bangkok is my second. Cebu Safari is very impressive! What more when it’s already 100% operational? It exceeded my expectation. It is truly a world-class park, a new tourist attraction that all Cebuanos must be proud of as a premier Safari in the country.
They are still in their soft opening, you can observe that there’s ongoing construction in some parts of the park. They are hopeful to hold the grand opening before 2018 ends. If you ask me if it’s worth it to go. Definitely YES!
There are so many animals already that you can enjoy and the crowd is less. But visitors are limited to 2000 per day only, it’s good if you do your reservation earlier to prevent disappointments. They won’t allow you to enter the gate anymore after 2000. It’s for the welfare of all the animals.
I’ve taken few photos only and not all animals are in my photos because priority is mama duties. But here’s a good thing, after all the tantrums of not going to the beach my four pets are all complete with me. — hehehe!
WE ARE READY AND EXCITED!
LENNON with CAPYBARA
I’m scared of rat so it’s quite frightening to see a big look-alike but it’s amazing that we have it in Cebu. Capybara is a mammal native to South America. It is the largest living rodent in the world, one of its close relatives is guinea pigs.
If you like orchids, you’ll love the Flora walking trail that displays 1 million different variations of orchids. This was the last part of our adventure in Cebu Safari.
Here are few frequently asked QUESTIONS:
How can we get there?
For your convenience, it’s highly recommended to bring your own car or arrange your day tour with all in package to a local tour operator like Easy Wander Travel.
Alternatively, once you hit the National Road in Carmen, look for the National High School (landmark). Turn left if you came from the south and right if you’re from the north. Follow the road signs and you will reach the Safari after 8kms. of uphill climb.
While in Carmen Municipal Plaza there’s habal-habal (motorbike) to safari at P100 per head (one way). Make sure to arrange your pick up back to the Municipality Plaza.
Can we bring food and drinks inside the park?
Outside food and drinks to be brought inside the park are not allowed. Donโt worry, there are food outlets around the park.
Are the adventure rides already open?
Not yet, wait for their official announcement.
Do Safari accepts credit cards?
Currently, it’s cash only.

It is good that they limit the number of visitors which much help reduce stress for the animals. Lovely pictures.
