I have no regrets that I’d cancelled my wakeboarding scheduled a week before this and joined them instead. It was really a great day trip where everything was arranged for us, with the assistance of a friendly nice guy. I will just hide him with the name “Andy” – heheh!
If you are in Singapore and you want to go out of the country, BCP (Batam Cable-Ski Park) is a perfect choice for a water sports. The rate is reasonable for a day trip that includes lunch, use of equipment, short orientation (for beginners like me), transfers (SG-BCP-SG).
Moreover, it also makes your trip hassle free, especially in queueing in Batam immigration. For those who had been in Batam, you know exactly what I meant about ‘long queues!’. While, to compare the cable-skiing hourly rate in Singapore is quite pricey.
We are so READYYYY! EXCITED! & A bit SCARED! Correction! ako lang ata ang scared — heheh! It took me some time before I finally decided to give it a shot.
I can’t skip these photos which I wanted to share with you, ayan si kuya todo turo sa akin, sa laki ba naman ng katawan nya ewan ko nalang kung hindi ako matuto agad, scary…heheh!
On the second photo (upper right) — my first attempt failed. BOooo ME! Si kuya nagkamot ng ulo — hahah! I lost my grip. The pull of the cable is really quick and strong. According to the guy you need to hold it tightly and hold on to your breath for 3 seconds when it pulls you, yes just 3 seconds.
I did it on my second attempt of knee boarding. Unluckily, I gave up trying to stand alone on the wakeboard but this gave me a reason to go back.
BCP is located in Waterfront City Resort, Batam Island, Indonesia. It is the first Cable-Ski Park built in Asia and they started operating on 1st August 1992.
It’s a man-made lake with 800 meters cable circuit. I just fell in love with the place. Whatever your preference – wakeboarding, wakeskating, knee boarding, or double Skiing. BCP is such a perfect place to do it!
They provide complimentary usage of house equipment such as kneeboards, wakeboards, wake skates, double and slalom skis and more importantly is the safety equipment – life vests and helmets. But, if you have your own you can freely bring it over.
There’s a pick up service (motorcycle) back to starting dock when you fell at any point of the lake, they have ‘table top slide’ too, para sa mga gustong mabalian…heheh!.
Here’s the ‘Infinity Sun-Tan Deck’ for those who wants to relax and have your sun-kissed skin. And the ‘Lounge Area’ with mini bar where you can also relax while watching the wakeboarders.
They serve their food and drinks here. The price is also quite reasonable and you can even bring outside food and drinks (including liquor with no corkage).
I loved the type of music they play and you can even play your iPod, just make sure you have nice playlist on it.
Additional amenities are Pool table, trampoline, fussball, lockers (BYO padlock), and their toilets with showers are quite decent. And very affordable full body message service in an open area (see photo at lower left) and WIFI is free!
